Job summary

Highpoint Health - Sumner with Ascension Saint Thomas in Gallatin, TN seeks a Polysomnographic Technologist for full-time night shift to lead sleep study services.

Responsibilities include setting up equipment, conducting tests, scoring studies and educating patients while maintaining equipment and supplies. BRPT and BLS are required; you will work within a major health system.

Qualifications

• Licenses: Registered Polysomnographic Technologist with BRPT.
• Certifications: BLS required.

Responsibilities

More about the position:

The Polysomnographic Technologist is responsible for the overall leadership and operation of the rehabilitation program. In this role, you will plan, direct, and coordinate program activities to ensure organizational and client goals are achieved. You will also play a key role in program development, quality improvement initiatives, problem-solving, and driving productivity while collaborating in a flexible, interdisciplinary team environment.

How you'll contribute

A Polysomnographic Technologist who excels in this role:

• Prepares for the arrival of the patient by setting up and preparing the equipment for the ordered test.
• Interviews patient to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain testing procedures.
• Performs testing and any additional testing required for sleep disorder that is noted.
  Scores, interprets, and reports results of sleep studies. Educates patients about test results, sleep disorders, community support groups, and available resources.
• Prepares, calibrates, repairs, and maintains equipment required for testing.
• Determines and reports needed repairs and replacements.
• Maintains proper supplies to care for patients.
