Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Gypsum is seeking a Shipping Operator in Savannah, GA to support our operations team in continuous wallboard production. This 12-hour night shift (4pm-4am) includes weekends and overtime as needed and emphasizes safety, quality, and timely loading of products.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of continuous employment in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• At least 6 months of forklift operation experience.

Responsibilities

• Work as a team to meet safety, production, and quality goals.
• Perform quality checks, tarp trailers and keep designated work area clean throughout shift.
• Operate equipment to defined standards and product specification targets.
• Perform housekeeping duties in the Warehouse/Shipping area.
• Load product with a forklift to meet customer needs with zero defects and timely delivery; communicate with OTR drivers.
• Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Climb stairs/rail ladders and work at elevated heights.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and PPE.
• Operate and/or work around mobile equipment including forklifts and heavy equipment.
• Work in loud, hot, humid, dusty environments typical of a non-climate-controlled facility.
