Job summary

UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (Senior) for the night shift on a per diem basis. The role delivers advanced respiratory care, including ventilator management, airway procedures, and aerosol therapies, to both adult and pediatric patients.

The ideal candidate has NBRC RRT certification, at least two years of RT experience, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Current NBRC RRT certification required; CRT with extensive experience may qualify via alternative pathway with proficiency.
• Two years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• All certifications must be maintained as required by the certifying body.

Responsibilities

• Administers standard Respiratory Care including aerosol delivery, oxygen therapy, basic bedside pulmonary function testing, and arterial punctures.
• Manages airway care including tracheostomy care, tube changes, intubations, extubations, and ventilator management.
• May be on-call day, night, weekends and holidays; maintains knowledge and serves as a resource to staff.
