Job summary

IPS Corporation in Fontana, CA is seeking a Sr. Plastic Extrusion Technician to operate and optimize extrusion equipment, ensuring high-quality profiles, tubing, and other products. This hands-on role emphasizes safety, process adherence, and efficient production in a manufacturing setting.

The ideal candidate has 2–4+ years of extrusion experience, reads technical drawings, and can work 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM on a 4-day/week shift. Strong measurement skills and ERP/MRP familiarity are desired.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
2–4+ years operating plastic extrusion equipment (profile, pipe, tubing, sheet).
Knowledge of extrusion process principles and resin behavior (PVC, PE, PP, ABS).
Able to read process sheets and basic drawings; troubleshoot and adjust processes.
Must lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods; willing to work shifts.

Responsibilities

Monitor and optimize extrusion processes including temperature, speed, and cooling.
Troubleshoot dimensional variations, surface defects, and die swell; start/stop equipment.
Perform material handling and blend formulations; manage changes or purges.
Conduct in-process quality checks using calipers, micrometers, or laser gauges.
Escalate and implement corrective actions for extrusion issues as needed.
