Job summary

IPS Corporation in Fontana, CA is seeking a Plastic Extrusion Supervisor to oversee daily extrusion operations, drive product quality, and meet production targets in a safe, efficient manufacturing environment.

You will lead a team of operators and technicians, optimize line performance with Lean tools, coordinate with Quality and Maintenance, and manage setup, changeovers and KPIs such as OEE, scrap rate, and throughput.

Qualifications

5+ years in plastic extrusion, 2-3 years in lead role.
Experience with single-screw and twin-screw extrusion equipment.
Strong Lean manufacturing and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read drawings, blueprints, and process specs.

Responsibilities

Directly supervise extrusion operators, technicians, and material handlers (6-12 reports).
Oversee daily production schedules across multiple extrusion lines for on-time delivery.
Monitor melt temperature, screw speed, haul-off, cooling, and dimensional control.
Troubleshoot extrusion defects and optimize process parameters for quality.
Manage setup, changeovers, startup/shutdown for extruders and downstream equipment.
Lead safety practices, OSHA compliance, lockout/tagout and safety meetings.
Track KPIs: line efficiency, scrap rate, uptime, throughput, OEE.
Control raw material usage and minimize waste; lead continuous improvement.
