Job summary

Missouri Botanical Garden is seeking a Security Supervisor for 3rd shift, overseeing a small team of security officers and contract guards. The role requires hands-on leadership, incident response, and a commitment to safety across the Garden and events.

The supervisor will train staff, ensure compliance with safety standards, and coordinate with the Manager of Security on policies. The job involves outdoor work in all weather, with a rotating schedule and holiday pay.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of security officer or guard experience required; public venue experience a plus.
• Minimum one (1) year supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be able to identify suspicious activity and handle security emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop security staff to deliver high-quality service.
• Oversee daily security operations and contract officers.
• Coordinate safety and emergency preparedness with the Safety Manager.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents; complete reports.
• Manage scheduling, timesheets, and security system tasks.
• Be available as essential staff for all shifts and conditions.
