Job summary

AIT is seeking a Material Process Operator in Michigan to cut raw materials with CNC and other metal-working machines. You will set up and adjust equipment, inspect parts, and verify tolerances against blueprints. The role requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and safe operation of power tools.

Must be able to work 4:30pm–1:30am with overtime possibly including weekends; night shift premium may apply. High School diploma or GED and 6–12 months of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Willingness to work 4:30pm–1:30am with overtime including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate saws or machines to cut raw materials to spec.
• Inspect and measure workpieces using rulers, calipers and squares.
• Adjust blades and equipment for precise cuts with hand or power tools.
• Operate and use saws, band saws, forklifts, cranes and grinders safely.
• Set up programs to control speed and feed rate and secure workpieces.
• Read blueprints and work orders to determine setup details.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
