Job summary

Sanitation Specialists is seeking an overnight sanitation lead to manage a team of 8–10 Sanitors and supervise sanitation operations at our facility in CT. You will verify work via ATP testing, coordinate with production, maintenance, and QC to meet stringent sanitation requirements.

Train and coach staff on procedures, safety, and chemical handling. You will also review sanitation tasks, perform sampling and pathogen testing per procedures, and ensure compliance with GMP and HACCP standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of sanitation lead or supervisory experience in a food manufacturing/processing environment.
• Fundamental knowledge of sanitation theory, CIP methods, chemistry verification techniques, and ATP testing.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Willingness to train and supervise staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage overnight sanitation operations for the facility and lead a team of 8–10 Sanitors.
• Verify sanitation work using ATP testing and related methods.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, and quality control to meet facility requirements.
• Train, coach, and direct Sanitors on sanitation procedures, safety, chemicals, equipment use, and workplace safety standards.
• Review sanitation work and assist with duties to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
• Draw samples for testing, follow pathogen testing procedures, and address testing or correction issues.
• Ensure Sanitors use correct color-code equipment throughout the sanitation process.
• Operate cleaning equipment to wash and remove impurities from processing equipment.
• Monitor chemical usage and notify supervisor when supplies are needed.
• Record time worked and monitor timekeeping.
• Maintain a safe working environment following health and safety procedures and report incidents.
• Provide coverage for the Sanitation Site Supervisor when they are unavailable.
