Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Safety Partner to join the Nursing Resource Pool. This role supports a safe hospital environment for patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, agitation, or other behaviors, enabling patient function and comfort during the stay.

You will work nights, 7:00 pm–7:00 am, three 12-hour shifts (36 hours weekly), with premium shift differential. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent; healthcare experience preferred;

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• Healthcare experience preferred or enrollment in health sciences.
• Complete Safety Partner Training during orientation if no prior healthcare experience.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• De-escalation and physical intervention training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe hospital environment for patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, agitation, or self-harm.
• Support Safe Handling and de-escalation across multiple units in the Nursing Resource Pool.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to implement safety plans and report concerns promptly.
