Job summary

CHRISTUS Children’s in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide pulmonary care for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under physician supervision, performing assessments and developing care plans.

You will manage airways, ventilator support, oxygen delivery, and administer aerosolized drugs, while ensuring accurate documentation and equipment maintenance across settings.

Shift is 7PM–7AM and full-time, with required NBRC RRT, ACLS, PALS, NRP and BLS certifications.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience preferred.
• RT or RCP license in the state of employment required.
• BLS certification required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NBRC required.
• ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications current.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies (Code Blue/White) as part of the care team.
• Manage airways including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning.
• Deliver aerosolized medications and monitor responses.
• Set up and operate ventilators and related equipment.
• Monitor oxygen delivery and perform therapeutic monitoring.
• Analyze chest films and collect blood gases.
• Perform EKG analysis and document care accurately.
• Assist in CAP and JC surveys and maintain supplies.
