Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 12-week contract on the night shift in Richmond, VA. The RT will provide respiratory care across age groups and serve as an educator for patients, families, and staff.

The role may include shift-team leadership in the absence of the supervisor and requires flexible hours including weekends and on-call as assigned. Required licensure includes Virginia Respiratory Therapist license and NBRC RRT credential,

Qualifications

• One (1) year of work experience as a Respiratory Therapist is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy is preferred.
• Current NBRC RRT certification is required or preferred depending on setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective respiratory care for neonate to geriatric patients.
• Serve as respiratory care resource and educator for patients, caregivers, and staff.
• Perform shift team leader duties in the supervisor’s absence when applicable.
• Rotate shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call as required.
