Job summary

Backus Hospital in Plainfield, CT is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team. Shift: 7:00pm–7:30am, rotating weekends and holidays, supporting around‑the‑clock patient care. Demonstrates clinical competence through the nursing process and a synergistic nurse‑patient relationship.

Assesses needs, develops a plan of care, implements and evaluates care. Education: BSN or MSN preferred; graduate of a nursing program.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of nursing; BSN or MSN preferred.
• One (1) year RN experience and/or completion of The William W. Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program. Two (2) or more years experience in this clinical area preferred.
• Current unrestricted License in CT to practice as a Registered Nurse; BLS upon hire; ability to obtain NRP within 60 days; department certifications as needed.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical competence through utilization of the nursing process and development of a synergistic nurse‑patient relationship.
• Assesses and identifies patient problems/needs, establishes a plan of care, implements and evaluates care provided to patients.
