Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Connecticut is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to join the Surgical Cardiology unit. You will monitor patients, assist with preoperative and postoperative care for cardiovascular and thoracic procedures, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans.

The role is full-time on the 12-hour night shift, with every-other weekend/holiday coverage. BLS is required, ACLS within first year, BSN preferred, CT RN licensure required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in Connecticut.
• BLS required; ACLS within the first year.
• BSN preferred.
• Experience in acute care (medical-surgical, telemetry or cardiology) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of RNs, LPNs, PAs/APRNs and surgeons.
• Monitor, record, and respond to patients’ clinical status.
• Assist with preoperative and postoperative care for cardiovascular and thoracic patients.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans to promote health and safety.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and incorporate research findings.
