Job summary

The role involves staffing assessments, patient care oversight, coordination with the DON, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Administer medications and maintain thorough documentation as required.

Responsibilities

• Assess staffing needs and adjust to ensure quality resident care.
• Assess delivery of nursing care and identify improvements.
• Monitor residents' health status, notify physician of changes.
• Plan improvements in care with DON.
• Ensure each resident has a plan of care.
• Supervise and participate in implementing changes with DON.
• Hold staff accountable for quality nursing care.
• Promote harmonious relationships within the care team.
• Direct and assist with orientation of new employees.
• Keep the DON informed of reportable situations.
• Make compliance rounds to all units during shift.
• Know and follow State/Federal regulations and policies.
• Continuously evaluate resident care via plans and records.
• Evaluate performance of nursing staff; follow through with disciplinary action.
• Administer medications correctly and complete charting when asked.
