Job summary

UNM Hospitals in Rio Rancho, NM, is seeking an experienced RN for the SRMC Inpatient Surgical unit. The role involves delivering direct patient care in a night shift, providing clinical leadership, and participating in discharge planning and family teaching.

The position supports adult to geriatric patient populations, with a focus on safety, adherence to policies, and collaborative care. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available.

Qualifications

• Active NM RN license required.
• CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers within 30 days
• Nursing background with clinical expertise in hospital settings

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients.
• Provide clinical leadership for staff and assume relief charge duties.
• Adhere to hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Document individualized care plans and discharge teaching with age-specific considerations.
• Administer medications, including IV meds, per Seven Rights.
• Assist with tests and procedures and obtain proper consent.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure patient safety at all times.
