Job summary

Sentara Health in Virginia Beach is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Observation Unit/2N on nights. This fast-paced unit handles 24–48 hour observation and short-stay care, including TIA workups and radiology procedures.

The RN provides nursing care using the nursing process, supports discharge within 24 hours when possible, and collaborates with physicians and the care team. ADN is required, BSN preferred; Virginia license with BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN or higher preferred.
• Virginia or compact multistate RN license in good standing.
• BLS within 90 days of hire.
• RN experience in a hospital setting.
• Experience in Med/Surg, Stepdown, IMCU.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care per the nursing process and standards of practice.
• Coordinate care, teaching and health promotion with the care team.
