Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med/Surg Observation Unit on the night shift. Responsibilities include assessing/admitting patients, rounds, administering medications, and communicating with families to support recovery.

Emphasis on teamwork to deliver high-quality care and opportunities for advancement exist within Sentara. New grads are welcome with a $7,500 sign-on bonus; there is also a generous sign-on up to $20,000 for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• RN-Diploma, ASN, BSN or MSN from an accredited school.

Responsibilities

• Assess/admit patients on the unit.
• Perform rounding checks and administer medications.
• Communicate with families and coordinate care.
• Ensure overall patient care and refer to leadership as needed.
