Job summary

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Adult Pulmonary Medicine Stepdown unit on a full-time night shift (7:00pm–7:00am, 3 nights per week, 36 hours). You will apply the nursing process, coordinate care across disciplines, and support patients aged 18 to 100+ including post-lung transplant cases.

The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, comprehensive patient education, and collaborative care planning within a dynamic unit.

Qualifications

• Applies the nursing process to plan and implement patient care.
• Collaborates with the health care team to set goals and monitor progress.
• Educates patients and families about care plans and discharge instructions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates in establishing the plan of care and coordinates care across the continuum.
• Analyzes patient information to determine nursing diagnoses.
• Evaluates patient progress and adjusts interventions to achieve outcomes.
• Promotes health and maintains a safe environment.
• Additional duties may be assigned.
