Job summary

Covenant Living of Northbrook is seeking a Nurse for per diem night shifts to oversee care for residents in our assisted living, skilled nursing and memory care settings. You will supervise LPNs and CNAs, support orientation, and ensure quality nursing practice in a faith-based, compassionate environment.

The role requires RN licensure in Illinois, at least one year of nursing experience, and strong communication skills to collaborate with physicians, residents and families.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State.
• One year nursing experience necessary.
• Devotion to standards and principles of professional nursing.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Provide routine daily direction and monitor the work of the LPNs and nursing assistants on the unit, assuring a high standard of nursing care and satisfactory completion of tasks.
• Assist in the orientation of new nursing personnel and reinforce training standards to maintain a high quality of care.
• Observe and evaluate residents' health, mental and emotional conditions and communicate significant changes to appropriate staff, physician and family as needed.
• Communicate regularly with the Director of Nursing regarding assessments and concerns.
