Job summary

Carilion Clinic is seeking an RN Transport Specialist for the Pediatric/Neonatal Transport Team on the Night shift at our Roanoke facility. The role involves leading nursing care, ensuring safety during transport, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to critically ill or injured infants and children.

The position requires a BSN may be preferred, 3+ years of NICU/PICU experience, and Virginia RN licensure with multiple certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of professional nursing is required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of critical care (NICU or Pediatric ICU) experience (≥4000 hours).
• Current Virginia RN license; BLS; C-NPT within 2 years of hire; EMT-B within 6 months; EVOC, NRP, Haz-Mat Awareness within 12 months; FAA flight crew requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care for patients in clinical settings.
• Lead nursing staff and collaborate with the health care team to ensure quality care.
• Plan and implement medical management and safe transportation for critically ill/injured infants or children.
• Maintain compliance with CAMTS, Virginia OEMS, and Carilion Clinic policies.
• Train, mentor, and onboard team members; participate in outreach and safety activities.
