Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Nursing Support professional for night shift in Michigan. You will oversee utilization review, admission status decisions, and daily operations of Patient Placement Services to ensure proper bed assignments and efficient patient flow.

Must hold an Associate Degree in Nursing with MI RN license and bring 3 years of acute care or physician office experience, plus strong communication and computer skills. Bachelor’s degree preferred; leadership experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in nursing and MI RN license.
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience in acute care or physician office.
• Professional demeanor and ability to remain composed under stress.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office with typing speed 40 wpm.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes inpatient admission criteria to assign diagnoses that meet acute care criteria.
• Acts as a resource for physicians regarding admission status.
• Supports the utilization function with efficient processes and workflow.
• Receives bed requests and coordinates admission/transfer timelines.
• Follows Clinical Guidelines for Patient Placement.
• Contacts physicians and offices to obtain scheduling information as needed.
• Compares beds with surgery and study schedules.
• Communicates bed status and placement needs to management and staff.
• Assigns rooms/beds and processes discharges/transfers in computer systems.
• Identifies and resolves patient placement, registration and flow problems.
• Establishes performance standards and efficient processes for quality service.
• Acts as liaison for process improvements.
• Assists in onboarding new staff.
