Job summary

The Clinical Nurse II at West PACU, part of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, delivers direct nursing care to patients undergoing anesthesia for surgery and procedures, using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care.

This 24/7 unit, 30-hour night shifts (9p–7:30a), collaborates closely with the Department of Anesthesia; ICU experience is preferred, RN licensure required, BSN strongly preferred, and basic computer skills for web-based applications are needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
• Licensure as RN required and BLS certification required.
• 1–3 years related nursing experience preferred.
• Basic familiarity with computers and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to patients and make nursing judgments.
• Assess health care needs and formulate, implement and evaluate a care plan.
• Coordinate care and supervise support staff to ensure safe, efficient patient-centered care.
• Collaborate with other health professionals to determine patient needs and communicate with families.
