Job summary

Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Orthopedic Unit to work nights. This full-time position offers 36 hours per week with night shifts from 7:00pm to 7:30am and a rotating weekend schedule.

The role provides patient assessment, care coordination, and education to patients and families, ensuring safe, timely, and effective interventions. You will collaborate with the health care team and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree in Nursing is required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Current licensure to practice nursing in Illinois is required.
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient assessment and collection of health data involving patient, family and other health care providers.
• Coordinates patient plan of care to ensure interventions are safe, timely and appropriate.
• Communicates clearly with patients and care teams in person, on the phone and in writing.
• Individualizes patient and family teaching based on assessed learning needs.
• Participates in evaluating nursing practice quality through quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintains professional knowledge of current nursing practice standards and regulations.
