Job summary

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital in the St. Louis area is seeking Registered Nurses to join a learning and growing team on the 2100 Inpatient Unit.

This short-stay unit focuses on Orthopedic, Spine, Urological and Plastic Surgery post-operative care to help patients discharge home safely. The role involves direct patient care, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Nursing diploma or Associate's degree.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient- and family-centered care and educates patients and families on illness, post-treatment home care needs and medications.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance, and in professional development.
• Develops and documents individual care plans with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team, patient, family, or caregiver.
• Uses nursing assessment to evaluate physical, psychosocial, emotional needs and preferences, including cultural and patient-specific considerations.
• Works in a safety-sensitive role requiring alertness and safe practice at all times.
