Job summary

Riverside Smithfield Hospital in Smithfield, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Med Surg on the Night shift (7p–7a). The role supports assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of total nursing care for assigned patients.

You will partner with the care team, educate patients and families, document accurately, and meet department and regulatory standards. This is a part-time, night-shift position with weekend/holiday requirements and a 96 hours per 4-week schedule.

Qualifications

• RN license in Virginia is required
• BSN degree preferred
• Minimum 1 year RN experience required

Responsibilities

• Assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs and develop care plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure safe patient transitions
• Provide education to patients and families and document thoroughly
• Delegate and supervise non-professional staff to support patient care
• Demonstrate urgency to facilitate patient throughput and maintain quality outcomes
