Job summary

Citizens Medical Center in Victoria, TX seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Med/Surg unit on nights (FT). The staff RN delivers direct patient care, assesses needs, coordinates with the health care team, and ensures safety and quality in a dynamic unit.

The role may include acting as charge nurse and coordinating across shifts. Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, TX RN license, and certifications (CPR/BLS, ACLS, NRP/STABLE).

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited college, university or school of nursing.
• Current license or permit to practice as a Registered Nurse in State of Texas.
• CPR (BLS) certification.
• ACLS certification biannually for Emergency Dept., Cardiac Cath Lab, PACU, ICU and House Supervisors.
• NRP, STABLE certification biannually for Nursery.
• All certifications for new hires/new GNs/RNs must be obtained within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct quality patient care based on the plan of care and delegates tasks to licensed and unlicensed staff.
• Participates in professional development of self and staff to enhance patient-focused nursing practice.
• Performs comprehensive patient assessment and documents data for age-appropriate care decisions.
• Develops and updates the plan of care with multidisciplinary team input.
• Monitors pain management and patient status; administers medications per standards.
