Job summary

West Tennessee Healthcare in Jackson, TN seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide quality patient care during the 12-night shift. You will lead the nursing team on the unit, utilize the nursing process, and coordinate care with physicians and allied staff.

You will assess patients, document care, administer medications, and contribute to discharge planning while meeting regulatory requirements. BLS required; ACLS/PALS preferred, NRP within one year.

Qualifications

• Completion of a diploma, associate, or baccalaureate degree in nursing.
• Current RN license in Tennessee.
• BLS certification required within orientation; ACLS & PALS preferred; NRP within one year.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial patient assessment using nursing process and age-specific needs.
• Documents assessment, delivery of care, and other pertinent information.
• Coordinates bedside care and supervises or delegates skilled procedures.
• Administers or supervises medications, IV fluids, blood, and blood products.
• Informs physician of patient condition and assists with treatments and rounds.
• Supervises nursing staff, assigns tasks by acuity and competency.
• Prioritizes physician orders and communicates with patient and family.
• Ensures safe handling and disposal of hazardous pharmaceutical waste.
