Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, Maryland, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Joint and Spine Unit on a 12-hour night shift. The role emphasizes patient education, clinical outcomes, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, OT/PT and case managers to deliver high-quality care.

The RN will support patients through education, pain management, and transitions from hospital to home, within a supportive, mission-driven workplace.

Qualifications

• Required: Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Superb interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
• Competency in electronic patient management systems.
• At least one year of RN experience in an acute care setting; rehab/surgical experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Effectively communicate with the patient, family and healthcare team.
• Provide education to post-surgical Joint & Spine patients.
• Interfaces regularly with OT/PT/Case Management to enhance patient experience and transition patients to home setting.
• Collaborate with patient in the proper management of pain.
