Job summary

Conway Medical Center’s Surgical unit is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide postoperative care and lead a team of care providers. Responsibilities include starting IVs, administering medications, monitoring vitals, documenting care, and coordinating with physicians.

The RN may supervise staff and serve as charge nurse, with on-call rotation and potential float coverage. Ideal candidates hold a BSN (preferred), have 2 years acute care and 1 year Surgical Unit experience, and possess SC RN

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• Two years acute care experience preferred.
• One year surgical unit experience preferred.
• Current SC (or compact state) RN licensure in good standing required.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to rotate through on-call schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for postoperative patients in the Surgical unit.
• Start or check IVs, administer medications, monitor vital signs.
• Assist with patient needs and document nursing care.
• Supervise and direct other licensed and unlicensed staff as assigned.
• Serve as team leader or charge nurse for a group or the whole unit.
• Support cross-unit coverage as needed.
