Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Longview, Texas is seeking a capable nurse who can practice independently in a similar clinical setting, delivering routine and complex care while supporting long-term goals and contingencies. You will lead care delivery, delegate tasks, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

A BSN is preferred; an RN license in the state or a compact license is required, with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS required; RN License in state of employment or compact.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation) for assigned patients.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and educates patients, family members and/or care givers; identifies issues and resources.
