Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Longview, TX seeks a registered nurse to provide independent patient care, assess needs, plan interventions, and delegate appropriately within a clinical team. You will document care, monitor treatments, and educate patients and families.

Requirements include a BSN preferred, minimum 1 year of experience, BLS and RN license (state or compact). Shift is 7PM–7AM; new hires complete orientation and may participate in residency programs.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS required.
• RN License in state of employment or compact.
• New nurses orientation within first 30 days of hire.
• All newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency program or other specific orientation.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments; monitors side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, families and/or caregivers.
