Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the 28-bed Medical Unit (5N) at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. You will provide patient-centered care on nights (7pm–7am), with self-scheduling every 3rd weekend and rotating holidays, to a diverse surgical and medical patient mix.

Qualifications

• BSN or MSN required, or ADN with time-bound exception.
• Active Nebraska RN license or compact-state license required.
• BLS certification preferred; ACLS and specialty certifications encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate nursing care and assess patient needs.
• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments to guide care.
• Develop and revise individualized care plans with interdisciplinary team.
• Implement safe interventions per care plan and nursing protocols.
• Evaluate patient responses and update care plan; handoff SBAR.
• Perform technical skills competently with equipment safety in mind.
• Maintain professional behavior and teamwork; participate in meetings.
• Identify and report risks; document appropriately.
• Coordinate staffing and task delegation per state nurse practice act.
• Ensure cost-conscious care and proper use of supplies.
