Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for a full-time night shift in Florida. You will conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop SMART care plans, and administer medications with safety and compassion.

Qualifications

• Administers all types of medications correctly per age group for all populations served according to policy.
• Demonstrates proficient technical skills and operational knowledge of all equipment used on the unit.
• Performs daily rotational task assignment as directed.
• Supervises Nursing Assistants in basic nursing functions and patient care.
• Serves as a preceptor as necessary.
• Communication/Collaboration.
• Gather data/assess/reassess all populations served and do primary assessment for each chart.
• Documents/communicates patient data and orders clearly; collaborates with the care team.
• Collaborates on Care Plan input.
• Timely collaboration to establish planning priorities.
• Recognizes emergency codes and maintains life safety measures.
• Understands computerized physician order entry and uses EMR effectively.
• Monitors EMR for orders and results.
• Educates patient and family from admission to discharge.
• Must be fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments through observation, interviews, and exams to gather history and needs.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans with SMART goals in collaboration with patients and families.
• Administer medications and procedures safely (oral, IV, IM) and perform wound care and IV therapy.
• Provide education on health conditions, treatments, and self-care; deliver discharge instructions.
• Advocate for patient health and safety; coordinate with the healthcare system to secure resources.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research initiatives.
• Collaborate with doctors, therapists, social workers, and other providers for coordinated care.
• Collect and analyze patient health data to prioritize needs and ensure timely care.
• Document patient care activities accurately in medical records to ensure continuity.
• Evaluate and adjust care plans based on ongoing assessments and feedback.
• Perform nursing procedures such as wound care, catheterization, and specimen collection.
• Ensure patient safety by following policies and maintaining a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
