Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking a RN Fellow to join the PCICU team within Inova's L.J. Murphy Children's Hospital. This Night Shift position offers a sign-on bonus and relocation bonus.

The Pediatric Cardiac ICU serves critically ill infants, children, and adolescents with heart disease, supported by a multidisciplinary team. The role emphasizes patient- and family-centered care, coordination across disciplines, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• 1 year of nursing experience
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Virginia as a Registered Nurse or multi-state license

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships
• Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice
• Conducts all patient care in a patient- and family-centered manner, integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care
• Advocates for patients' rights and provides counsel while acting as a resource to resolve issues
• Documents all patient care activities and assists team with documentation
• Evaluates the process to achieve outcomes and revises plans of care as needed
• Provides direction and mentoring to others as a clinical resource and preceptor
