Job summary

Medical City Las Colinas, part of Medical City Healthcare, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the ED on a full-time night shift (7p–7a) with weekend rotation. The RN coordinates high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with physicians and care teams, using established nursing models to assess, perform, teach and manage care.

Qualifications

• ACLS within 90 days of employment start date.
• BCLS within 30 days of employment start date.
• TNCC within 1 year of employment start date.
• RN – Registered Nurse credential.
• PALS within 90 days of employment start date.
• NCI or SAMI within 6 months of employment start date.
• 1 year of nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record.
• Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and by anticipating needs.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about medical condition, treatment plans, medications and side effects, ensuring understanding.
• Educates patients/families/caregivers on non-medicinal follow-up measures such as diet and exercise, and prepares for self-management.
