Job summary

Medical City Grand Prairie Free‑Standing ED seeks a Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a fast‑paced ED setting. You will work nights (7 p–7 a) with rotating weekends, collaborate with medical providers, document care, and support patient families with education and discharge planning.

Requirements include RN license, Associate Degree, ACLS/BLS, and additional certifications (TNCC, PALS) within specified timeframes, with at least two years of ED

Qualifications

• RN license required and active in the state.
• ACLS and BLS must be obtained within specified timeframes from start date.
• TNCC and PALS must be obtained within 6 months (or as noted).
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 6 months.
• RN with Associate Degree.
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course or PALS must be obtained within 6 months.
• No travel required.
• 2 years of ED nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management and reassessments after intervention.
• Performs procedures and care as ordered by medical providers and documents care in the medical record.
• Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates needs to deliver exceptional care.
• Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatments, and follow‑up measures; translates medical terminology for understanding.
• Educates on non‑medicinal follow‑up measures, lifestyle changes, and self‑management.
