Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit is seeking an Access Management Nurse to operate within the System Capacity Command Center (SC3). The role reviews admission cases in the ED with minimal supervision, collaborating with physicians and payers to minimize inappropriate admissions and cost exposure.

The position requires a nursing license in Michigan, a Bachelor's degree in nursing, and at least three years of clinical experience with strong assessment skills and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing.
• Three (3) years of clinical experience.
• Experience facilitating InterQual reviews, admission process preferred.
• Experience with systems that support patient flow, admission, and transfer preferred.
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and produce detailed and accurate work.
• Excellent clinical knowledge and assessment skills to evaluate and prioritize care issues.
• Understanding of Henry Ford Health policies and procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and screen recommended admission cases in the ED.
• Collaborate with ED physicians, attending physicians, and payers on initial reviews.
• Reduce financial risk and exposure through appropriate admissions.
• Facilitate throughput with continuous assessments and education.
