Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time night shift at St. Francis Nursing Center in Colorado Springs.

You will coordinate with the healthcare team to address physical, emotional, and spiritual patient needs, following the nursing process and state regulations. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, perform procedures, document thoroughly, and educate patients and families while upholding compassionate, mission-driven care.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement.
• RN License in state of employment.
• BLS (American Heart Association).
• Physical Requirements: Medium Work exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10lbs. constantly.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• One year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data.
• Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including IVs, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
• Maintain thorough and confidential patient charts and records; document status, interventions, patient response and outcomes; use IT to communicate and support decision-making.
• Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health, safety and rights of each patient.
• Provide patient/family education through assessment of learning readiness, needs, and ability; teach and evaluate effectiveness of teaching.
