Job summary

The NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD is seeking compassionate Registered Nurses to join Pediatric Clinical Research Unit or Adult Medical/Surgical Units for specialized roles integrating clinical care with research execution. You will ensure patient safety, deliver advanced care, and protect human research subjects in Phase I–III trials.

Positions align to Pediatrics or Med/Surg tracks based on clinical background and unit needs, with night shift and a 13-week contract (extension possible).

Qualifications

• Active RN license and BLS certification required.
• Experience in pediatric acute care or medical/surgical units preferred.
• Clinical research nursing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct, high-quality nursing care tailored to pediatric acute care or adult medical/surgical populations.
• Administer investigational therapies, chemotherapies, and blood products per protocols; collect research data.
• Monitor patients and manage monitoring systems and central lines; respond to emergencies as needed.
• Maintain detailed EHR documentation of patient responses, adverse events, and protocol parameters.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and support informed consent processes.
