Grandview Medical Center—Birmingham, AL seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Clinical Decision Unit on the ED Hold. This full-time night shift (7pm–7am) focuses on rapid assessment, triage, and high-quality patient care in a busy ED setting.

The role requires 0–2 years of clinical nursing experience or student rotations, RN licensure, and BCLS; ACLS/PALS/NRP are preferred. Comprehensive benefits and incentives are offered.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required.
• RN licensure required (State Licensure and/or Compact Licensure).
• BCLS (Basic Life Support) required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient-centered care using the nursing process.
• Assesses patients, documents findings, and reports changes to the care team.
• Administers prescribed medications and monitors for side effects.
• Assists physicians during procedures within competency scope.
• Collaborates to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Responds to emergencies with CPR and code team participation.
• Educates patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
• Implements infection control protocols and maintains safety standards.
• Documents care and education in the medical record.
• Participates in audits and quality improvement activities.
• Maintains reliable attendance and compliance with policies.
• Emergency Services RN duties: rapid triage, intubation, wound care, suturing.
