Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston, TX, is seeking a registered nurse (RN) to join the L&D team as a charge nurse on the night shift (7pm–7am). The role requires collaboration with physicians and the health care team to deliver high-quality patient care using the nursing process.

You will perform nursing assessments, assist with exams and treatments, educate patients, document medical records, and ensure adherence to departmental policies and standards.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Texas (or temporary/compact).
• BLS certification required.
• BSN preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Delivers safe, age-appropriate nursing care per the Nursing Skills Inventory and patient needs.
• Coordinates nursing care planning with an interdisciplinary team and makes clinical decisions.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to achieve positive patient outcomes.
• Coordinates discharge and transfer plans.
• Participates in program evaluation, process improvement, and outcome measurement.
• Considers diverse patient needs across the care continuum, upholding service standards.
• Adheres to regulatory standards and Memorial Hermann policies within budget and staffing constraints.
• Supports professional growth, mentoring less-experienced staff when needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
