Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit in Jefferson Hills, PA. This full-time night-shift role focuses on comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac procedures and those requiring advanced monitoring.

You will lead nursing practice, assess patient needs, and participate in interdisciplinary teams while ensuring patient safety and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Current PA RN license or multi-state licensure via eNLC.
• CPR certification required.
• Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 clearances required.
• Certification in area of specialty preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient status and plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
• Provide leadership in a professional practice setting.
• Assign or delegate tasks based on patient needs and staff skill levels.
• Participate on interdisciplinary teams to evaluate clinical care.
• Promote patient safety initiatives and participate in quality initiatives.
• Utilize the nursing process to develop patient care plans.
• Analyze health status and determine patient care needs.
• Document changes in patient condition and notify appropriate personnel.
• Participate in systematic peer review and seek feedback on practice.
• Promote compassionate communication that is patient- and family-centered.
