Job summary

Mercy Health's St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, OH, is seeking a Psychiatric Registered Nurse to join our Adult Behavioral Health Unit. The role involves delivering compassionate nursing care, assessing patient status, implementing interventions, and developing care plans to improve outcomes.

This full-time night shift (36 hours/week) offers a sign-on bonus possibility. A BSN is preferred, along with an active RN license and BLS; one year of RN experience in behavioral health is recommended.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Ohio or a compact state.
• BSN preferred; 1 year of RN experience in behavioral health preferred.
• BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain on hire; ACLS acceptable in lieu.
• Strong clinical nursing interventions and patient care planning.
• Experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care per the plan of care while monitoring progress.
• Assess and document patient conditions, reporting changes as needed.
• Administer medications, insulin, and IV fluids with thorough documentation.
• Inspect wounds, change dressings, assist with personal hygiene.
• Apply interviewing skills to gather information for the treatment plan.
• Collaborate with providers and staff to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and perform other duties as assigned.
