Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center in Clyde, NC, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for Behavioral Health on a PRN basis, with 12-hour night shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Holidays and weekends may be required.

The unit treats adult and geriatric patients, with a 1:6–1:9 nurse-to-patient ratio and a team including CNAs, mental health staff, and physicians. Qualified candidates hold an RN license for NC or a compact state, an associate degree in nursing, and BLS; ACLS and PALS within six months.

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license.
• Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school.
• BLS (AHA Basic Life Support) within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS certifications within six months of hire.
• One year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
• Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide care tailored to the condition and age of each patient.
• Document medical necessity in the medical record in a timely and accurate manner.
• Complete and revise the interdisciplinary care plan for each patient.
• Conduct timely and accurate quality improvement assessments.
