Job summary

St. Joseph Institute for Addiction seeks a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care on an assigned unit, supervise LPNs and CNAs, and develop individualized care plans for clients in a behavioral health setting.

You will assess, document, and communicate patient status, administer medications with two identifiers, and educate clients and families while ensuring safety and quality care on site.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved/accredited nursing school.
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience in clinical settings.
• Experience in behavioral health/psychiatric/addiction recovery preferred.
• Knowledge of psychotropic medications and administration procedures.
• Ability to apply nursing standards in acute psychiatric settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate nursing care by assessing physical and behavioral health needs, develops and implements nursing care plans.
• Administer medications with two identifiers and document appropriately.
• Communicate findings to providers and participate in team handoffs.
• Monitor client acuity, census, staffing needs; escalate coverage as needed.
• Educate clients and families about medications, rights, and care procedures.
• Maintain accuracy of medical records and ensure security of medications.
