Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Alexandria, LA is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for full-time night shifts (7PM–7AM) in a busy clinical setting. The RN will perform the nursing process, administer medications, monitor patient status, document care, and educate patients and families.

Strong assessment, delegation, and teamwork are essential; ACLS certification is required, with RN license in state or compact. New hires receive orientation and must complete competency validations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred
• Current ACLS certification required
• RN License in state of employment or compact

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients
• Administers medications and treatments; monitors side-effects and effectiveness
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers
• Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to manage the clinical situation
