Job summary

Atlantic Health System in Morristown, NJ is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide life support and cardiopulmonary care under physician supervision. Night shift weekends only, 36-40 hours per month, with responsibilities including ABG analysis, aerosol therapy, ventilator management, and patient education.

Required: AS in Respiratory Therapy, NBRC-credentialed RRT, NJ license, BLS; 1+ year respiratory care experience; critical care and EPIC charting experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in respiratory therapy is required.
• RRT credential and NJ license are required.
• BLS certification; ACLS preferred to obtain within 12 months.
• 1+ year of Respiratory Care experience, critical care preferred.
• Experience with PFT studies and cardiopulmonary testing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate prescriptions, measure ABGs, and determine therapy needs.
• Deliver aerosol medications and assist breathing for patients.
• Set up and operate ventilators and related respiratory devices.
• Monitor patient responses to therapy and adjust as needed.
• Perform pulmonary function tests for physicians' diagnosis.
• Maintain patient charts and ensure equipment safety.
• Educate patients and families about respiratory care.
• Collaborate with physicians on adverse reactions.
• Demonstrate procedures to trainees and staff.
• Care for neonatal, elderly, and trauma patients as needed.
