Job summary

Johnson Memorial Hospital in north central Connecticut is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join the Respiratory Care Department on a full-time, 12-hour night shift. The role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care through administration of respiratory therapies and equipment management.

You will function with clinical judgment, serve as a resource to physicians and staff, and set up and operate ventilators, CPAP/NIPPV, and high‑flow oxygen devices, including invasive ventilation modes.

Qualifications

• Clinical judgment and independent decision making in patient care.
• Proficiency in respiratory care procedures and equipment operation.
• Ability to function as a resource to physicians and health care teams.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory care as part of the Respiratory Care Department.
• Provide clinical judgment in delivering quality patient care.
• Serve as a technical resource to physicians and staff on respiratory practices.
• Set up and manage equipment including ventilators, CPAP/NIPPV, and high-flow oxygen devices; manage invasive ventilation modes.
