Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Night Shift Respiratory Therapist in Kansas for full-time work at our Shawnee Mission location. You will lead shift operations, perform ABG analyses, and manage ventilation settings under physician orders.

The role emphasizes critical thinking, infection control, and high-quality patient care across age groups. A CRT credential and BLS are required; 1+ year of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science required.
• CRT certification required (state or NBRC).
• BLS CPR certification required.
• 1+ year of experience preferred.
• Ability to follow regulatory requirements and quality controls.

Responsibilities

• Review workload, assign staff, and assist with technical questions as shift lead.
• Perform blood gas analyses, run QC tests, change analyzer cartridges.
• Document interdisciplinary education and care plans; participate in rounds.
• Assist with bedside bronchoscopy procedures as needed.
• Provide respiratory therapies per orders, monitor and adjust ventilators.
• Deliver aerosolized meds and oxygen therapy; assess respiratory status.
• Respond to rapid response and code blue events; perform CPR.
• Other duties as assigned.
