Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in New Mexico is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to deliver routine and advanced respiratory care, manage ventilators, and perform airway management across units.

The role emphasizes patient safety, professional development, and opportunities for tuition reimbursement, certification support, and leadership tracks within a supportive wellness-focused environment.

Qualifications

• NM Respiratory Care Practitioner license and NBRC credential required or in process.
• ACLS and/or PALS and BLS certifications required or in progress.
• Two to three years of college-level coursework or an Associates/Diploma in Respiratory Care; critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine and advanced respiratory care; manage ventilators.
• Assist physicians with Bronchoscopy procedures per policy; monitor consciousness and cardiopulmonary status; administer sedation agents and reversals.
• Initiate ventilator protocols and coordinate ventilator management.
• Perform advanced airway care including tracheotomy changes, extubation, and intubation.
• Initiate and monitor nitric oxide delivery; participate in NICU duties if assigned.
• Other department-specific duties and duties as assigned.

Education

Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care

New Mexico Respiratory Care Practitioner License

NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist

ACLS or PALS or BLS certification
